I don't get any notifications

Notification problems can be tricky to solve. We need to make sure we cover all possible scenarios, from your in-app notification settings to your device system preferences, and others.

Especially for Android devices, please make sure to follow the instructions below and contact us if you still need some help.

Check your in-app notification parameters

First, we would advise that you double-check your notification settings.

  1. Go to the app Profile > tap on the team to see the active pushes;
  2. Activate the pushes and press Done to save the changes.

Android

Power saving mode

Please check that your phone is NOT in power saving mode. Power saving mode is a feature for conserving battery life on your Android device. When power saving mode is enabled, many devices do not show push notifications, even when they are enabled in the app.

This includes smartphone management (like EMUI) that can also manage your preferred apps automatically, making some of them stop notifications if you don't use them for a while. If you have any type of automatic smart management please check if it is not blocking the notifications from OneFootball. See the steps below:

To get notifications, connect to a Wi-Fi or cellular network. If you still don't get notifications for the app, try these steps:

  1. Go to Settings > Notifications, select the app, and make sure that Allow Notifications is ON.
  2. If you have notifications turned on for the app but you're not receiving alerts, you might not have Banners selected. Go to Settings > Notifications, select the app, then select Banners.
  3. Make sure that you’re signed in to your Apple ID. 
  4. Make sure that Do Not Disturb is off. 
  5. If you’ve recently installed the app or restored from a backup, open the app to start getting notifications.

 

Additional step for Huawei and Honor phones (incl. Samsung Galaxy J3)

The EMUI of Huawei Android-based phones is using very aggressive battery saving methods. These Huawei's proprietary features may stop OneFootball from running in the background.

Please proceed with the following steps:

  1. Go to Settings > Advanced settings > Battery Manager > Protected Apps, then find the OneFootball app and protect it.
    This is "whitelisting" the app so Huawei's software doesn't shut it down automatically.
  2. Go to Settings > Apps > Advanced > Ignore Battery Optimizations, then find the OneFootball app and ignore it.
    "Ignoring" the app actually means to let it run because you're telling the battery optimization function to "ignore" that app.
  3. Go to Settings -> Notification Panel & Status Bar -> Notification Center, then find the OneFootball app, then activate "Allow Notifications" and also "Priority Display". You have to activate the priority part too to make sure you get notifications.
  4. Restart your phone.

Other issues by model

In addition, there are several phone models where we observed technical issues for notifications. These models are Asus, Huawei, Meizu, Oneplus, Samsung, Sony, Wiko, and Xiaomi. There is not much on our side that we can do to solve the issue, as these mobile models have specific settings that are independent of OneFootball. Please check online, if you find a description and solution for your specific phone model.
